Maspeth HS target to opens its new building this coming 2012 school year.

Maspeth High School is temporarily located at 91-30 Metropolitan Avenue Forest hill, NY 11375. They have already at least 200 students which are all 9th graders attending this school year.  But by the time they move to their new school campus they will be joining the new incoming 9th graders for the school year  2012 pushing it's school population hopefully to half the number of the proposed 1,000 seats that are available for the Zone district 24. Travel to Portugal and Spain via Jamaica,NY

O' Lavrador caters to a variety of authentic dishes from Portugal and Spain. Delicious sea foods from fresh grilled sardines and codfish. Try their Bacalhau Assado, its grilled codfish in garlic and olive oil. They also have a variety selection of meats that are prepared in the traditional way.
Rustic lamps and bolted ceilings will be seen throughout the restaurant (right picture below).
If you just want to have a drink and watch a sporting event their bar is a good place to be (left picture below).

They also celebrate the feast of  Saint John every third weekend of June. They open the parking lot to accommodate patrons who wish to enjoy a good dinnner and watch the feast celebration. There are a lot of raffle games, music, dancing and food. I always look forward for my favorite grilled sardines. Yummm...

The best bubble tea!

The cold winter weather did not stop people from lining up ( including me) to get their favorite delicious bubble tea. The bubble tea comes in a  variety of flavora. The most common bubble tea that I have seen people was carrying around was the Taro Tea. It is made from a sweet purple yam. Yum, indeed!

Thats a one big bubble tea :)

I found this Portuguese beverage while visiting a small Mom-and- Pop store in Jamaica, NY. Its kind of sweet, tangy and bubbly, love it!! Do you have an imported drink that you like and you can locally buy it here in Queens? Share it with us.

Hulu Coffee and Tea House in Elmhurst, NY 11373

Looking for a different cup of Joe? Try their amazing french pressed coffee. They will grind the beans for you as you order . The Ethiopian( Mild) is my  favorite here. They also sell coffee beans and herb tea here.  They have a casual and  up beat vibe going on here. I often meet some of my clients here for a quick cup of coffee and they love the place. Excellent rating from YELP!

The ceiling was an original part of the building. It was an old furniture shoppe before.  But the designs blended well with coffee shop's theme.

A classic retro look. But don't be fooled, they got wifi here.
